Cigarette fire

This was a house fire in North Babylon, New York that was caused when the homeowner fell asleep with a cigarette burning in the ash tray, somehow the cigarette ash tray was knocked to the ground causing the carpeting to start smoldering, when the door was opened the fir ignited, the homeowner was lucky to escape with just some smoke inhalation. This was a heavy smoke fire causing us to remove drywall , carpeting, contents and almost everything in this area. The pictures are of the hallway off of the living room area to show you what smoke damage can do and how far it could travel. We performed all of the emergency services that we could to help them get started for their rebuilding process. The homeowner is lucky to be alive. Be careful of everything you do with things that are lit , weather it be cigarettes, cigars , candles or any other flammable items.
