Kitchen French fries fire

This was an interesting fire in Lindenhurst, New York last month. The homeowner said she awoke at about 3:30am and thought she was dreaming about Burgers and fries, She went down to the kitchen and found the stove was on fire, her 7 year old son decided he was hungry and wanted to cook French fries, he filled the pan up completely with oil and put the fries in and away the fire went. Thank goodness the mother woke up because her son was just sitting on the floor crying, he also had chop meat and eggs out and was planning on making a hamburger. We responded that morning , installed air scrubbers, removed charred materials and started the cleaning process. That afternoon when the men went to lunch they brought him back a hamburger with large French fries and a coke, his smile was priceless and he promised not to cook until he was old enough.
