Break in water line

We were called into this loss by the homeowner in December, the home is located in Patchogue, New York. The photos do not justify the amount of water that was discharged during the break. As most people with basements, you don't usually go down unless it is necessary. This is an apartment that was used years ago by his daughter and has not been used in five years. We were called in on a Friday evening at approximately 11:30 PM. The homeowner did not have a plumber so we turned off the water and called in a plumber for him. After the plumber was complete we started removing the destroyed carpet, padding and drywall, the tremendous amount of contents made this project very challenging. We supplied a storage unit so we could complete the water removal. We then proceeded to install all drying equipment that was needed to properly dry it out to prevent any mold growth. Every day in this business we get to help a fellow human being out which is very gratifying.
